The short answer

What a retailer ordering app is, and who it suits

A retailer ordering app is an app, or a WhatsApp chat, that a shop uses to order a brand's products from its distributor at any hour, instead of waiting for the rep. It suits consumer brands that sell through distributors to many small shops, where most orders are repeats and a rep calls on each shop only now and then.

A shop owner beside the Retailer App reorder screen: own prices, a live scheme, credit check and a WhatsApp ordering chat

The Retailer App runs under your brand's name and logo, and every order still goes through your distributor. In it, a shop can:

  • Browse products at its own price and reorder from its order history
  • See the schemes and rewards it qualifies for
  • Track orders and invoices, check what it owes and pay
  • Order in its own language, or over WhatsApp with nothing to install

BeatRoute already reaches more than 2 million retailers through the brands that use it.

We have always been committed to staying aligned with our consumers' needs, and distribution plays a critical role in ensuring product availability. We were very keen to augment our existing physical retail coverage with a digital medium to drive incremental penetration and more active dialogue. BeatRoute helped us do exactly that by enabling communication through FB Messenger and Viber bots, and rolling out a DMS panel to our distributors in no time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is BeatRoute's Retailer App?

BeatRoute's Retailer App is a retailer ordering app: shops use it to order your products on their phone instead of waiting for a rep or calling in. We set it up under your brand as a white-labeled Android and iOS app, a web app or a WhatsApp bot. Your reps use the field sales app on a visit, and both feed the same account record. For dealers and distributors ordering from you, see the B2B Customer App.

What can retailers do in BeatRoute's Retailer App?

A retailer opens the Retailer App, browses products at their own price and sees the promotional schemes they qualify for. For a repeat order, the shop picks from its order history or from a basket the Order AI Agent suggests, checks it and confirms. The app checks the shop's credit limit and your order rules before the order goes through. After that, the retailer can track deliveries, see invoices and what they owe, pay, raise a return and watch loyalty points build. Retailers can use the app in their own language. Shops with a weak connection, or that will not install anything, can order through a WhatsApp chat or a web application.

Does the app bypass our distributors?

No. Every app order lands with the distributor who already serves that shop, on your prices and credit terms, and the distributor delivers and bills it. With BeatRoute's Distributor Management System, distributors see app orders next to their stock and invoices.

Will the app replace our field reps?

No. It takes the routine reorder off the rep's list. Reps see app orders in the account history they open on a visit, so the visit goes to new products, displays, collections and dormant shops.

How do retailers get onboarded?

Retailers register on their own, or a rep signs them up on a visit. Each shop then sees the prices, credit limit and schemes you set for it, and can order straight away.

Has a consumer brand rolled out retailer ordering with BeatRoute?

Colgate-Palmolive Philippines added a digital ordering channel to its retail coverage with BeatRoute, reaching outlets through Messenger and Viber bots. The Colgate Philippines case study reports faster retail activation and better trade scheme results.

Can the Retailer App integrate with our existing systems?

Yes. Our team connects it with your ERP, DMS, CRM and SFA, so prices, credit, orders, invoices, returns and scheme claims stay in sync.
