Two new incremental order nudges are live on the Customer App. Both exist for the same reason: in African trade, the order does not wait for the rep. If a shopkeeper needs stock on a day nobody is coming, they will buy from whoever answers first.
What is new
1. A nudge to self-order on the days no rep is coming
- The outlet is told, on the days their regular rep is not scheduled, that they can still order.
- The nudge carries a link straight into the Customer App. A duka, spaza or provision store orders in the minute they think of it, instead of waiting for next week's visit.
This is the gap that costs brands the most volume in markets where a rep reaches an outlet once a week, or once a fortnight upcountry. Coverage stops being limited by road time.
2. A nudge on schemes the outlet has not taken up
- Retailers are told about a scheme they qualify for and have not yet used.
- Trade schemes stop depending on whether the rep remembered to mention them, which is what usually decides scheme uptake in a busy market.
Why this matters
- Coverage without more headcount: the outlets between visits are reachable, including the ones a route cannot justify weekly.
- Schemes that actually land: the offer reaches the shopkeeper directly, so the margin you funded gets used.
- The rep is not replaced: the nudge fills the days between visits. The relationship, and the credit conversation, stay with the person who built them.
Frequently asked questions
Does the retailer need the app, or can this reach them another way?
The nudge links into the Customer App, which is where the order is placed. For outlets that live on WhatsApp, the same order path can be reached from a shared link, so nobody is asked to change how they already do business.
Does self-ordering cut the rep out of the relationship?
No. It covers the days the rep is not scheduled. The visit, the relationship and the credit conversation stay with the rep, and the orders placed in between still land against their territory.
